IPSY/ August Glam Bag

Yey, another month another glam bag!! I'm happy to report that my second IPSY glam bag is finally here!! This month's theme was to fill the universe with peace, love, and magic.
I absolutely loved the bag, it has the perfect quote. "Peace Love Lipstick. " The bag has an ombre effect, with white and golden glitter letters,  and with a cute gold leather tassel.

KissMe April 2017
I received five items plus the cute make-up bag for only $10! Can't beat that price for trying out different beauty products.(Disclaimer: This review was not Sponsored by IPSY I paid for my glam bag and all opinions are mine)
My first item was a perfume sample by Juliette Has a Gun. (The name is pretty hard core lol) This is the perfect size to carry in your purse or when you're traveling. It is made out of a single ingredient cetalox and it is allergen free. It is one of their top sellers. I really liked the scent, it is woodsy and earthy,  not sweet or flowery.  I will definitely be wearing it a lot.
My second item was the mini universal brow pencil by Paula Dorf Cosmetics.  It is considered universal because of the taupe shade, it is flattering on almost everyone. The formula is very blendable, which is key to natural looking fill-in eyebrows. I'm excited to try it out since I usually use a powder base to fill in my brows.
For my third item I got the 103 contoure brush by Firma Beauty. This brush is not too big or too small,  it's the perfect size.  It is angled to trace the curves of your face without leaving harsh stripes on your face. The soft synthetic bristles hold powder without spillage. You can also use thus brush for highlighting. I don't currently contour or highlight my face, but I'll definitely use it for bronzers.
I was pleased with my fourth item,  I got the Balm Voyage Vol. 2 eyeshadow by theBalm Cosmetics. The shade was Willkommen, it is a deep caramel shade. It has triple-milled pigments, anti-aging properties, and it is a cruelty-free product. I plan to use it on my eyelid crease or use it as an eyelid liner by simply wetting my eyeliner brush.
Last but not least I was excited about the Coconut blush duo by Pacifica! It has the shade Beaming, a muted terracotta and Tenderheart, a soft mauve. You can wear them separately or layer them to create a custom shade. Coconut is part of their ingredients, which is beneficial for it's anti aging properties. The shades are buildable,  for a subtle look just do a quick swipe or pack it on for a bolder look.

Here is my complete look using IPSY August glam bag in conjunction with products I already owned. I used the mini universal eyebrow pencil, and the Balm Voyage Vol. 2 Willkommen eyeshadow on my crease. I decided to combine the coconut blush duo starting with Tenderheart and then Beam.  I used my contour brush to apply the blush.
I absolutely loved all the products I received this month. My make-up collection is slowly growing and it is exciting to know that I'm getting happy mail every month! Not only that I'm discovering new brands and learning tips on how to use certain products. Hope you liked my review and if you are considering joining the IPSY Glam Squad I hope this was helpful. What beauty subscription boxes are you currently subscribed? Let me know I'm curious to know what else is out there.

LBD Goodwill Challenge

Happy Thursday fashionista's! I've been a bit MIA on my blog lately, but today I'm back with an exciting post. If you have been following my blog for a while then you might remember me talking about Phoenix Fashion Week. Each year they host a challenge, which consist of illustrating your perfect little black dress. They choose the top four illustrations which then you get to bring to life. In which the designers showcase it in Phoenix Fashion Week's annual fashion show. This year they had a completely different challenge.

The little black dress challenge was presented by Goodwill of Central Arizona and Phoenix Fashion Week. You had to shop at one of 67 locations, find a project dress, up-cycle, re-purpose it into your own perfect little black dress. The dresses would then be turned in by Saturday 26, 2015. Which would then be judged by up-cycle expert Angela Johnson. They select the top four designs. Once chosen 25% of the votes would come from social media and 75% …

Behind the Seams I

It's been a while since I've done a custom design or a Behind the Seams segment. Today I will be sharing with you my latest work. A month ago I was contacted by a young lady to design a gown for a wedding she was attending mid April. She sent me a picture of a mermaid dress she had stumbled across. The problem was that she wouldn't be able to get it delivered just in time for her event. I came to her rescue j/k. I met with her took down her measurements talked about fabric choices and any other details.

Here is a sketch of the design.
The design consisted of a mermaid silhouette, the neckline was almost like a racer back. The back was exposed with tiny spaghetti straps. The back skirt had a tiny bustle. The hem had tulle peeking out all around.

The chosen fabrics were red peach skin, red lining, and black tulle. The notions that were used included an invisible zipper and thread.

I generally like to drape my patterns on the dress form over flat pattern. This method seems fa…

Heart Cut Out Dress

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I popped up on here! I've been crazy busy being a momma, wife, and a Etsy shop owner.
It has been quite an interesting journey, very different from custom designing. I've learn so much these past months and I am continuing to learn. Hats off to you if you are a Boss Mom it takes a lot to run a home and a business!

I'll be sharing with you all some of my Etsy designs with you all incase you don't follow my social media or Etsy shop. Since we are still in the month of February I'll be sharing my Valentine's day dresses. I made two designs for my shop the first design is the Heart Cut Out dress.

For this design I wanted a fun focal point, I decided a heart cut out on the back would be cute. I started drafting and making a muslin sample I had to tweak it a couple of times because getting the heart shape wasn't as easy as I had thought. After three attempts I finally got the heart shape that I was aiming for. The f…
