Off the Shoulder Maternity Dress

This summer is all about exposing a little shoulders! I am definitely digging this trend and decided I needed an off the shouldres dress asap! I had the perfect fabric for this dress that I had envisioned. I had bought this beautiful bright floral on black cotton jersey blend knit fabric from my favorite fabric store Girl Charlee.   For the design I used my modified pattern from Simplicity 1358 the bodicon tank dress. I ommited the chunky straps making it a tank top. I drafted a rectangle to create the off the shoulder ruffle. I decided to add tiny spaghetti straps for extra support to avoid any slips. Another modification I made was legnthening it a bit. Since this fabric wasn't as stretchy as my previous ones I should have added 5/8" on each side for more wiggle room. Sewing it was easy peezie, and just like that I had a brand new dress to add to my maternity collection!! I really loved the final product. The only thing is, my baby bump is growing and I don'

IPSY / July Glam Bag

Ever since becoming a mother I've tone down on my makeup because I didn't give myself time to go all glammed up. My days of lavishing mascaras and flirty fake lashes were long gone. I was a huge fan of MAC eye shadows and would do the whole match your outfit thing. My go to lipstick was a fierce red when I used to think I was a rockabilly chick. Besides rosey cheeks I didn't wear foundation or powder my skin was smooth as a baby's bottom. I even used to rock cat eyes with the eye liner and hynotic purple contacts. Now a days you'll find me bare face and on days that I wear makeup it's more of earth tones. So you can say I'm way otta the loop as to what's trending. The makeup world seems to have gotten a bit complicated. From conoutre, highlights, glow, to color corrector. Where to begin right! I don't know if it's my age or todays camera's capturing everything, I feel like I have to up my makeup game. So I decided to give IPSY a try. Do

Summer Peplum Tops

Last year I took advantage of a spoonflower sale, it was buy a phat quarter get one free. The deal was too sweet to pass it by. I had been wanting to try their organic knit with cute prints since forever! Since my daughter was outgrowing last year's summer tops I thought I would make her a few tops this year. So I choose several prints that she might like. One of them was a cute cartoon mermaid print. She absolutely loved this print, specially since she's a fan of mermaids. Since I only ordered a phat quarter I decided on a peplum top. I took rough measurements, which I shouldn't have because it came out shorter than expected. It became a peplum crop top. I was bummed out because I didn't have enough fabric to redo it. It didn't look bad but she isn't a fan of showing off her belly.  Here she is posing for me, we had gone to H&M and found the perfect rings that match her top. A mermaid, sea shell, octopus, starfish, and a dolphin. I
