IPSY / July Glam Bag

Ever since becoming a mother I've tone down on my makeup because I didn't give myself time to go all glammed up. My days of lavishing mascaras and flirty fake lashes were long gone. I was a huge fan of MAC eye shadows and would do the whole match your outfit thing. My go to lipstick was a fierce red when I used to think I was a rockabilly chick. Besides rosey cheeks I didn't wear foundation or powder my skin was smooth as a baby's bottom. I even used to rock cat eyes with the eye liner and hynotic purple contacts.
Now a days you'll find me bare face and on days that I wear makeup it's more of earth tones. So you can say I'm way otta the loop as to what's trending. The makeup world seems to have gotten a bit complicated. From conoutre, highlights, glow, to color corrector. Where to begin right!
I don't know if it's my age or todays camera's capturing everything, I feel like I have to up my makeup game. So I decided to give IPSY a try. Don't know what it is or how it works? I anxiously waited for the infamous pink bubble mailer to arrive! This time it was a golden mailer. The WAIT was over... July's glam bag was cute but I was really hoping they would design a fourth of July theme. The bag featured Gudetama, a lazy little egg, the concept was to inspire a lazy beauty routine. (Which I have that down already lol)
My first item was an illuminator brush by Beau G√Ęchis. Which is perfect because I want to learn more about brushes. Guess sponges are out dated lol. This fluffy brush has synthetic bristles and a super cool wooden handle, it’s 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and eco-friendly. Great to use for powder, liquids, or gels. The shape is even perfect for applying concealer under your eyes.
My second item was the BRTC Jasmine Waterful Sleeping Mask. The name says it all, apply it before getting your beauty sleep. You're supposed to wake up feeling hydrated, gorgeous, and have glowy skin. This mask is infused with a patented blue flower complex to help soothe and brighten dull, stressed-out skin. It is scented with Jasmine. I'm excited to try it out, to give my face a boost.
The third item was the Chella Eyebrow Cream in Tantalizing Taupe. It shapes and defines your arches to perfection. It has an angled brush for creating natural-looking volume. It states that you can get into the pool or if you live in AZ heat your brows will stay put. I will definitely have to put it to the test and let you'll know.
For the fourth item was the OFRA Cosmetics
'Gold Rush' or 'Victory' Eyeshadow. The intense pigment of this pressed powder eyeshadow works wet or dry. While the longwear formula remains crease-free. The shadow is matte and shimmer at the SAME TIME! So if you wear it as is expect a mossy brown shade aka "Victory." Just add water to reveal the precious metal aka "Gold Rush" which it be a warm earthy brown. Two in one eye shadow win win. But wait there's more, you can even apply it as an eyeliner. Just use your eyeliner brush and add water and wallah you got a dual purpose!!
Finally, my last item was the Amazonian clay waterproof bronzer by Tarte Cosmetics. It is a multi-use waterproof bronzer it gives a hint of shimmer that flatters a variety of skin tones, and fakes a post-vacay glow, even if you’ve been home all day.  Amazonian clay helps improve skin clarity, brighten, soothe, and fight signs of aging. I'm all for a vacay glow and improving my skin!!

Here is my my complete look using my IPSY July Glam Bag. I used the Chella eyebrow cream for my brows, I love how natural it turned out. The color was spot on with my natural hair. I used my illuminator brush to apply concealer, it really blended the product smoothly. I applied the bronzer on my temples, the hallow of my cheeks, and I contoured a bit of my nose. The bronzer was very pigmented so a little goes a long way unless you want that super bronze look. For the eyeshadow I applied some of my pre-owned eyeshadows in conjunction with ofra Victory eyeshadow. I applied a light base from Elf from the All About Eyes 32 eyeshadow pallet. Then I did a light brown also from ELF I applied it above my crease towards my brow bone but not all the way to my brow. I transitioned the crease with Victory from Ofra, I layered it towards the wing of my eye for a more dramatic look. I patted a shimmery cream on my entire eyelid and tear duct from the baked trio by ELF in Brown Bonanza. I applied the light brown and Victory on my lower eyelId. To finish off the look I applied mascara on upper and lower lashes and curled them. For lipstick I used a coffee lipliner and Wet n Wild Catsuit liquid lipstick in Give Me Mocha. To set my entire make up I used the ELF makeup mist and set.
There you have it my first glam bag and so far I'm loving all the items. It definitely did not dissapoint. I'm already excited about the rest of the months, it's going to feel like it's ma-h birthday!! It feels great to invest and pamper myself.

Keep Me Safe Organics / Skin Care Review

Hello darlings, today I have a beauty product review from Keep Me Safe Organics!
The company carries organic, toxic free beauty and skincare products. I believe that taking care of your face is important since it is the first thing everyone sees so make it a lasting impression. I'll be reviewing their skincare line, which are the facial cleanser, facial toner, facial moisturizer, serum, and rejuvenating glacier mud mask. (Disclosure, all products provided by Keep Me Safe OrganicsAll my opinions are mine and I'm keeping it 100%.)
In order to give you my honest opinion, I tested the products for three days and made a video documenting my results after using all the products. I will post the video below. Let's talk about my skin issues before using the products; I suffered from dry flaky skin, red blotchy patches on my cheeks and of course acne. I'll be reviewing each item and tell you a bit more about them.

LBD Goodwill Challenge

Happy Thursday fashionista's! I've been a bit MIA on my blog lately, but today I'm back with an exciting post. If you have been following my blog for a while then you might remember me talking about Phoenix Fashion Week. Each year they host a challenge, which consist of illustrating your perfect little black dress. They choose the top four illustrations which then you get to bring to life. In which the designers showcase it in Phoenix Fashion Week's annual fashion show. This year they had a completely different challenge.

The little black dress challenge was presented by Goodwill of Central Arizona and Phoenix Fashion Week. You had to shop at one of 67 locations, find a project dress, up-cycle, re-purpose it into your own perfect little black dress. The dresses would then be turned in by Saturday 26, 2015. Which would then be judged by up-cycle expert Angela Johnson. They select the top four designs. Once chosen 25% of the votes would come from social media and 75% …

Behind the Seams I

It's been a while since I've done a custom design or a Behind the Seams segment. Today I will be sharing with you my latest work. A month ago I was contacted by a young lady to design a gown for a wedding she was attending mid April. She sent me a picture of a mermaid dress she had stumbled across. The problem was that she wouldn't be able to get it delivered just in time for her event. I came to her rescue j/k. I met with her took down her measurements talked about fabric choices and any other details.

Here is a sketch of the design.
The design consisted of a mermaid silhouette, the neckline was almost like a racer back. The back was exposed with tiny spaghetti straps. The back skirt had a tiny bustle. The hem had tulle peeking out all around.

The chosen fabrics were red peach skin, red lining, and black tulle. The notions that were used included an invisible zipper and thread.

I generally like to drape my patterns on the dress form over flat pattern. This method seems fa…
