Walmart / Summer Beauty Box

Beauty boxes are awesome, who's with me!! Walmart offers a seasonal beauty box subscription, you only pay $5 for shipping. If you're in the hunt for an inexpensive beauty box and are wanting to try beauty samples this box is for you.
The box comes with beauty samples and tips on products sold at Walmart and their website. It's a fun little box because you don't know what you are getting so you'll sure be surprised when you open it! So four seasons, four boxes only pay $5 for shipping each box. After seeing some of their previous boxes I decided to give it a try. (Disclaimer: this review is NOT sponsored by Walmart, I bought this with my own money, all opinions are mine. I'm sharing because "Sharing is Caring.")

I was still lucky to get their summer box! Which means I'll be getting two more before the seasons are over. For the summer box I received 8 products; Banana Boat Sunscreen, Pantene shampoo and conditioner, Aveeno daily moisture, Got2b ultra glued, mask remover sponges, Soo AE face mask, and a brush cleansing gel. Below I'll share some info about the products, and a review.
Banana Boat Dry Balance Sunscreen Lotion:  It is 30 SPF, 1 FL oz. Perfect to keep in your purse and protect your skin from the heat, specially if you live in AZ like I do. It has a soft matte finish, it is breathable on the skin, and water resistant. It protects you for 80 min then you'll have to re-apply. Sunscreen is very important because it decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun.
Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner: These duos are both travel size of 50 mL. It helps to renew and re-hydrate your hair. This shampoo and conditioner is perfect for dry or damaged hair in need of hydration or more softness.
Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion: This is a 1 FL oz, it is clinically proven to relieve dry skin. It is fragrance free and non greasy. It is dermatologist recommended. This lotion contains soothing oatmeal, which helps prevent and protect dry skin for 24 hours. This lotion leaves your skin feeling soft  smooth, and naturally healthy looking.
Got2 Ultra Glued: The tube is 1. 25 oz perfect to keep in your purse for lil touch ups. It is an invincible styling gel. This gel is non-sticky, no flake formula, it has a powerful agent that locks almost any style in place. The consistency is like a gel but holds like glue,  making it great for creating a beachy wavy or sharp spiky hair. It is easily removed by washing your hair with shampoo. The easy squeeze tube makes it effortless to use.
Ecotools Mask Remover Sponges: Two round sponges came in the package. They are considered premium spa-quality, they are designed to quickly wipe away facial masks, mess-free. It is made from wood pulp. It has a gentle exfoliation, making your skin smoother and radiant. They are reusable by rinsing thoroughly and air drying.
SOO AE Nature Collagen Essence Mask: This is a one count mask, made from Tencel sheets. The sheets are infused with a nutrient-rich essence formulated with hydration boosting ingredients.  A single 15 min application provides instant moisture to skin, diminishing the appearance of fine lines caused by dryness. You get a healthy glowing complexion! I love a good mask!
Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Gel: It was a trial pouch of 7.39 ML. I was pretty excited about this one because my brushes could use a cleaning! With this gel you get smoother makeup application and longer lasting brushes. It is the simple way to remove oils, impurities, and make up weekly. A little drop of the gel goes a long way, into warm water. Swirl bristles into the gel and water.  Rinse until water runs clear. Reshape bristles and lay flat to dry.
Overall I was pretty happy with my first Walmart beauty box and can't wait to get the fall and winter season. If you decide to sign up chances are you'll be getting the fall box because they send those out by September. Are you a beauty box fanatic? What beauty boxes are you currently subscribed?

Keep Me Safe Organics / Skin Care Review

Hello darlings, today I have a beauty product review from Keep Me Safe Organics!
The company carries organic, toxic free beauty and skincare products. I believe that taking care of your face is important since it is the first thing everyone sees so make it a lasting impression. I'll be reviewing their skincare line, which are the facial cleanser, facial toner, facial moisturizer, serum, and rejuvenating glacier mud mask. (Disclosure, all products provided by Keep Me Safe OrganicsAll my opinions are mine and I'm keeping it 100%.)
In order to give you my honest opinion, I tested the products for three days and made a video documenting my results after using all the products. I will post the video below. Let's talk about my skin issues before using the products; I suffered from dry flaky skin, red blotchy patches on my cheeks and of course acne. I'll be reviewing each item and tell you a bit more about them.

LBD Goodwill Challenge

Happy Thursday fashionista's! I've been a bit MIA on my blog lately, but today I'm back with an exciting post. If you have been following my blog for a while then you might remember me talking about Phoenix Fashion Week. Each year they host a challenge, which consist of illustrating your perfect little black dress. They choose the top four illustrations which then you get to bring to life. In which the designers showcase it in Phoenix Fashion Week's annual fashion show. This year they had a completely different challenge.

The little black dress challenge was presented by Goodwill of Central Arizona and Phoenix Fashion Week. You had to shop at one of 67 locations, find a project dress, up-cycle, re-purpose it into your own perfect little black dress. The dresses would then be turned in by Saturday 26, 2015. Which would then be judged by up-cycle expert Angela Johnson. They select the top four designs. Once chosen 25% of the votes would come from social media and 75% …

Behind the Seams I

It's been a while since I've done a custom design or a Behind the Seams segment. Today I will be sharing with you my latest work. A month ago I was contacted by a young lady to design a gown for a wedding she was attending mid April. She sent me a picture of a mermaid dress she had stumbled across. The problem was that she wouldn't be able to get it delivered just in time for her event. I came to her rescue j/k. I met with her took down her measurements talked about fabric choices and any other details.

Here is a sketch of the design.
The design consisted of a mermaid silhouette, the neckline was almost like a racer back. The back was exposed with tiny spaghetti straps. The back skirt had a tiny bustle. The hem had tulle peeking out all around.

The chosen fabrics were red peach skin, red lining, and black tulle. The notions that were used included an invisible zipper and thread.

I generally like to drape my patterns on the dress form over flat pattern. This method seems fa…
