Ever since becoming a mother I've tone down on my makeup because I didn't give myself time to go all glammed up. My days of lavishing mascaras and flirty fake lashes were long gone. I was a huge fan of MAC eye shadows and would do the whole match your outfit thing. My go to lipstick was a fierce red when I used to think I was a rockabilly chick. Besides rosey cheeks I didn't wear foundation or powder my skin was smooth as a baby's bottom. I even used to rock cat eyes with the eye liner and hynotic purple contacts.
Now a days you'll find me bare face and on days that I wear makeup it's more of earth tones. So you can say I'm way otta the loop as to what's trending. The makeup world seems to have gotten a bit complicated. From conoutre, highlights, glow, to color corrector. Where to begin right!
I don't know if it's my age or todays camera's capturing everything, I feel like I have to up my makeup game. So I decided to give IPSY a try. Don't know what it is or how it works? Well let me give you the breakdown. IPSY is a beauty subscription box, for $10 and FREE shipping, you get five items with a cute makeup bag each month. The cool part is that you create a profile, answer few questions then based on your response the glam bag is tailored for you! This is a great way to explore products without breaking the bank. So let the adventure begin!!! (Disclaimer: This review was not Sponsored by IPSY I paid for my glam bag and all opinions are mine)
I anxiously waited for the infamous pink bubble mailer to arrive! This time it was a golden mailer. The WAIT was over... July's glam bag was cute but I was really hoping they would design a fourth of July theme. The bag featured Gudetama, a lazy little egg, the concept was to inspire a lazy beauty routine. (Which I have that down already lol)
My first item was an illuminator brush by Beau Gâchis. Which is perfect because I want to learn more about brushes. Guess sponges are out dated lol. This fluffy brush has synthetic bristles and a super cool wooden handle, it’s 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and eco-friendly. Great to use for powder, liquids, or gels. The shape is even perfect for applying concealer under your eyes.
My second item was the BRTC Jasmine Waterful Sleeping Mask. The name says it all, apply it before getting your beauty sleep. You're supposed to wake up feeling hydrated, gorgeous, and have glowy skin. This mask is infused with a patented blue flower complex to help soothe and brighten dull, stressed-out skin. It is scented with Jasmine. I'm excited to try it out, to give my face a boost.
The third item was the Chella Eyebrow Cream in Tantalizing Taupe. It shapes and defines your arches to perfection. It has an angled brush for creating natural-looking volume. It states that you can get into the pool or if you live in AZ heat your brows will stay put. I will definitely have to put it to the test and let you'll know.
For the fourth item was the OFRA Cosmetics
'Gold Rush' or 'Victory' Eyeshadow. The intense pigment of this pressed powder eyeshadow works wet or dry. While the longwear formula remains crease-free. The shadow is matte and shimmer at the SAME TIME! So if you wear it as is expect a mossy brown shade aka "Victory." Just add water to reveal the precious metal aka "Gold Rush" which it be a warm earthy brown. Two in one eye shadow win win. But wait there's more, you can even apply it as an eyeliner. Just use your eyeliner brush and add water and wallah you got a dual purpose!!

Finally, my last item was the Amazonian clay waterproof bronzer by Tarte Cosmetics. It is a multi-use waterproof bronzer it gives a hint of shimmer that flatters a variety of skin tones, and fakes a post-vacay glow, even if you’ve been home all day. Amazonian clay helps improve skin clarity, brighten, soothe, and fight signs of aging. I'm all for a vacay glow and improving my skin!!
Here is my my complete look using my IPSY July Glam Bag. I used the Chella eyebrow cream for my brows, I love how natural it turned out. The color was spot on with my natural hair. I used my illuminator brush to apply concealer, it really blended the product smoothly. I applied the bronzer on my temples, the hallow of my cheeks, and I contoured a bit of my nose. The bronzer was very pigmented so a little goes a long way unless you want that super bronze look. For the eyeshadow I applied some of my pre-owned eyeshadows in conjunction with ofra Victory eyeshadow. I applied a light base from Elf from the All About Eyes 32 eyeshadow pallet. Then I did a light brown also from ELF I applied it above my crease towards my brow bone but not all the way to my brow. I transitioned the crease with Victory from Ofra, I layered it towards the wing of my eye for a more dramatic look. I patted a shimmery cream on my entire eyelid and tear duct from the baked trio by ELF in Brown Bonanza. I applied the light brown and Victory on my lower eyelId. To finish off the look I applied mascara on upper and lower lashes and curled them. For lipstick I used a coffee lipliner and Wet n Wild Catsuit liquid lipstick in Give Me Mocha. To set my entire make up I used the ELF makeup mist and set.
There you have it my first glam bag and so far I'm loving all the items. It definitely did not dissapoint. I'm already excited about the rest of the months, it's going to feel like it's ma-h birthday!! It feels great to invest and pamper myself.Want to join the IPSY Glam Squad? Click here.
