Its Boxy mail time and this month’s BoxyCharm theme is Rock 2018! This box will have you feeling the rock and roll soul. If you aren’t familiar with BoxyCharm it is a monthly beauty subscription box of $21 and they include 4-5 full size items valued at $150+.
Swatch Time:
The items included in this month’s box were face primer,
eyebrow pencil, eye shadow palette, cheek palette, and lip plumper. I will
review each product below, tell you more information about each of them, and
swatch them. (Disclaimer: this review is NOT sponsored by Boxy Charm, I bought this with my own money, all opinions are mine. I'm sharing because "Sharing is Caring.")
Dr. Brandt: Pores No More Luminizer Primer Retails at $38
This primer delivers a natural radiant glow while blurring
pores and imperfections for a beautifully illuminated flawless complexion. A
few months I got to try Dr. Brandt PoreDermabrasion Pore Perfecting Exfoliator
from October’s Boxy Charm and I absolutely loved it. I was pretty excited to
see this brand again and this primer doesn’t disappoint. Let’s just say I’m a
fan of Dr. Brandt.
It Cosmetics: Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil Retails at $24
Developed with plastic surgeons, IT Cosmetics’ #1
best-selling, award-winning eyebrow pencil is infused with brow-enhancing biotin,
lecithin, saw palmetto, nettle, green tea, antioxidants, grape seed, and
vitamins A, B5, C, and E. Plus proprietary brow power technology to give you
your most beautiful natural-looking
brows-even if you have none at all. Its universal transforming shade adjusts to
all hair colors based on pressure, its exclusive oval tip mimics the look of
real hair and it includes a built-in grooming spooley brush for a polished
look. It does take a bit of practice to perfect your brow technique, from the
way you do your strokes, and how much pressure you put. Like they say practice
makes perfect. Swatch Time:
Crown Pro: Glam Metals Palette Retails at $25
Rock your look with this eye shadow palette. These shades
are highly pigmented and ultra blendable. I really like the metallic colors
they included in the palette. They are all unique shades from silvers, bronze, gold,
and of course smokey. If you want an even more intensifying look just simply
wet your brush and you’ll get a shadow foiling. You can create a numerous looks
with these nine shadows. The packaging is really cool, I especially like the guitar mirror it reminds me of guitar hero lol!
Swatch time:
(Top: Punk, Rock On, The Wicked)
(Top: Wild Thing, Rebel, Glam Rock)
(Top: Black Metal, Heavy Metal, Pop Rock)
PUR The Complexion
Authority: Bronze and Brighten Cheek
Palette Retails at $34
This is the perfect on the go highlight, bronzer, and blush!
This palette has three skin perfecting powders to create an effortless and
sun-kissed glow on every skin tone. Featuring PUR’s fan favorites “Afterglow”
and “Mineral Glow” along with a new blush shade “Blushing Glow.” I just
recently started experimenting with highlight so it is really cool to have a
trio palette and not worried about carrying all the extras. A must have if you
are a mom on the go like myself just throw this little bad boy in your bag and
you’re ready to go! I also liked the fact that it includes a mirror because sometimes it's hard to find a mirror in your purse. The palette itself reminds me of the Neapolitan ice cream
you almost want to eat it lol. It is really pigmented so a little goes a long
way. Just blend blend for a more natural look.
Swatch Time:
(Afterglow, Mineral Glow, Blushing Glow)
This lip plumper is infused with Volulip and Hyaluronic
Acid, which instantly improves lip volume within 3-5 minutes, while hydrating
dry areas. Results may vary. The shade I got was Midnight Purple. It is a
glossy finish, not one to wear glossy lipstick. However, who doesn’t want
GRANDE Lips, without the painful needles? This really sounded promising and I
was a bit spectacle at first but after trying it I can see the difference. One
thing I do have to complain was that it was tedious to get the applicator to
work. Also the applicator itself is too rubbery which makes it hard to glide
smooth on my lips. After applying it, I felt tingled after 2 minutes which to
me might be an indicator that the plumping process had begun. I get the idea
behind this but it’s not something I’m too keen on. Because if you are looking for
fuller lips you have to use this product religiously the good thing is they
offer a ray of color options and even clear. I’m a matte type of gal so I
probably wouldn’t wear it too much.
Boxy Charm definitely started 2018 with a bang! I’m so ready
to Rock 2018 with these amazing products. My eyebrows will be on fleek with the
IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil. I have to admit my eyeshadow
palette collection has grown tremendously, however the Glam Metals Palette is
unique, because I don’t own any duplicates. Overall amazing products and I can’t
wait to play with them more. Now for the total value of this box….Drumroll
please….$148 not bad at all!! Want to get your own BoxyMail? Sure you do, sign
