Upcycled Day: 7

All good things must come to an end! It's day seven, of kid's clothes week upcycled challenge. I had  a blast tearing up old clothes and giving them a fresh breath of air. By all means this was extremely challenging because I am ME; I tend to have an emotional connection with my clothes, I have been in denial that  my style had changed, and talk about having the guts to tear them apart. Hey, at least I kept my clothes in the family! ;-) Hope you all enjoyed my creations as much as I enjoyed making them. Alright, let's get down to business, going into this challenge, one of the things I really wanted to transform was a mens shirt into something amazing. So I did what any lovely wife would do, I grabbed one of my husbands old mens shirt. I honestly, had no idea what I would do! I was having designer's block! Ever had one of those? Let me tell you they are the worst. Fast, forward six days later, it came to me! The mens shirt had pin stripes, which meant I could play with directional stripes. The front bodice would have a chevron effect, the back would be kept as is along with the buttons. The skirt portion would have horizontal stripes and inverted pleats.

Here is the before.

Close up of the back, kept the original buttons.

My little model wasn't being too cooperative, I was only able to capture two pictures a bit blurry but you get to see how the dress looked on her.

Striking a pose :D

This concludes Kids Clothes Week upcycled challenge! I loved the challenge it pushed me to do something different. Now I have a less clutter up closet and she has new/old clothes. It's a win win! Which upcycled garment was your favorite?

Women's Watches: Where to Shop for Unique Timepieces

Tick tock, tick tock. Time is slowly creeping up and I'm making sure to make the most out of it. As a mommy of two, I stop and stare at my two beautiful daughters I began to reminisce on the day they were both born. Oh such tiny little babies they were and all I can think is poof they've grown in a blink of an eye. I am soaking up every moment and making memories with them because I want them to always remember all the good TIMES we've experienced. Thanks to JORD on my wrist, it is a daily reminder to cherish my precious time. JORD is based in St. Louis. They design sophisticated watches with mix of natural, and largely re-claimed materials, combined with quality movements and components. JORD are best known for their unique hand crafted wooden watches. I consider myself minimalistic when it comes to watches. When I saw THE CASSIA it caught my attention because I knew it was perfect for me! It is thoughtfully styled with a Scandinavian design in mind. The band is
